Apps That Pay You

There are quite a few applications out there advertising that people can earn money/ save money fast and easy.

They are all mostly correct but some have either little payout or require a LOT of work.

Here I will break it down with MY top 5, app by app.

Ibotta

“The Best Cashback App to Save Money! Earn Cash with Grocery Rebates & More!”

Positives • I found it to be simple and easy to use. You do earn money back once you hit the $20 withdrawal threshold and can withdraw through gift cards, PayPal and Venmo.

Negatives •  Unless you go grocery shopping often, you won’t earn that much money. You also have to search for EVERY product you bought to see if there are any rebates for it, which is time-consuming, especially if you shop in mass amounts. I have found that they also don’t have rebates for store brands, just name brand, mostly with the more “expensive” brands. Lastly, the “redemption period” for a single receipt is 7 days from the purchase date and time. So you have to make sure you get it done sooner rather than later.

Checkout 51

“Get the best deals & earn cash back on your favourite brands with Checkout 51! It’s FREE to sign up and you can start saving right away.”

Positives • Really easy to use. Once you hit $20 in savings, you can cash out. The layout of the app is very nice.

Negatives • Offers reach there limit FAST! So you have to be quick to redeem them. It’s hard to sift through the offers to see which ones are available. You have to meet a certain savings threshold to unlock some offers, which you can then redeem the following week.

Flipp

“Flipp is the essential app for your weekly shopping. Search circular deals and coupons by item, brand, or category to quickly find the best deals on your weekly essentials and make saving money super easy. “

Positives • Its the only app that matches local circular deals with coupons. You also add all your loyalty cards to this one app, then you can load coupons on to them to be used DURING your purchase rather than scanning your receipt after. The app helps you find what’s on sale and help you stay organized while shopping. It can load ads for over 800 stores AND has been named the top shopping app to help save money in over 350 publications including TechCrunch, ABC News, Forbes, USA Today, The Washington Post, and the Boston Globe.

Negatives • … I can’t find any.

Ebates

“Earn Cash Back rewards at your favorite stores! Get unbeatable shopping deals, promo codes & coupons with Ebates.”

Positives • You can earn up to 40% back. Over 2,500 store can be used on this app. Can get cash back on Lyft rides and Doordash. Can earn in-store cash back. Members get paid on time, every three months via PayPal or a Big Fat Check. Ridiculously low payout threshold, as little as $5!

Negatives • Once again, I can’t find any.

Shopkick

“Shopkick is the shopping app that rewards you with FREE gift cards for the shopping you already do!”

Positives • There are easy daily challenges to earn points, like walking into stores or scanning items in a scavenger hunt. You can also earn by purchasing items and scanning the receipt.  You also aren’t limited to just grocery shopping, you can redeem at malls too.

Negatives • Make sure to follow the rules to the T, many people have had their accounts terminated for not following the rules. There are no 2nd chances!
